C. Clare Hinrichs is an
associate professor at Iowa State University.
Professor Hinrichs works broadly within the field of environmental
sociology, with particular interest in how patterns and dynamics of
social inequality shape the experience of environmental and resource
problems and also the politics and practice of solutions.
Current research focuses on the
social organization and development of community food systems in a
context of globalization and on structural charge and environmental
conflict in animal agriculture.
