Artur Loza is the Deputy of the Chairman of the Board of Closed
Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Agro-Soyuz, an agricultural production
division of Agro-Soyuz Corporation.
CJSC Agro-Soyuz is an agricultural enterprise, which was founded in 1997
on the territory of a former collective farm, called Druzhba in
Sinelnikovo district, Dniepropetrovsk region as a model enterprise to
adapt innovative agricultural technologies.
Today, the territory of the farm is 8,300 hectares. Crop production,
dairy and swine production, ostrich farming, grain storage and handling
as well as Agricultural Extension are developed at the enterprise.
Since 1996, the enterprise ceased the practice of conventional tillage,
which employed the moldboard plough, and transitioned through minimal
tillage to the No-Till system using a diversified crop rotation and
18.35 meter wide-cut implements.
On April 24, 2003 a Guinness World Record was achieved on CJSV
Agro-Soyuz’s fields. Within a 24 hour period, a single seeder,
co-manufactured by Agro-Soyuz in Ukraine planted 571.9 hectares of
spring barley while simultaneously applying granulated fertilizers.
Agro-Soyuz swine specialists have developed an experimental model farm,
which includes a commercial reproducer with feedlots to produce 25
thousand hybrid pigs per year. Gearing-up into full production capacity
is underway at the Swine Complex in Romanivka. Fattening of pigs takes
place on deep irremovable straw bedding in Agro-Soyuz.
Insemination is performed artificially at the complex. Semen is
collected manually.
A flow production based on 7-day rhythm has been selected at the
complex. A technological group of sows consists of 50 animals. The total
amount of sows is 1,200 animals. Annual piglets production is 24-25
thousand piglets. Average daily gain during fattening period is 750-850
grams. Annual sales of commercial pigs will be 22-24 thousand.
