Research Program
Research in the Ag Drainage group is applied in nature and focuses on understanding the fate and transport of water and contaminants on the agricultural landscape. Present studies include:
- Field investigations of drainage water quality with various in-field management and drainage management practices,
- Modeling of the hydrology of the drained landscape and integration of detailed drainage and crop growth models, and
- Field evaluations of the impact percent perennial vegetation and placement of the perennial vegetation on small watershed hydrology and nutrient loss.
From this research we hope to provide useful information on management of agricultural lands to minimize environmental impacts.
