Inquiry-Based Learning Module

From Drilling to Tilling: Making Plastics from Renewable Resources

A teaching module on biobased plastics appropriate for secondary chemistry classes is available from the link below.  This module was prepared in collaboration with the Authentic Teaching Alliance (ATA) at the University of Oklahoma with funding from the National Science Foundation.  The module was developed by a team of two ATA Fellows and one secondary science teacher working with Professor Robert Anex and graduate student Alison Ogletree.

The module was implemented in the classroom of Mr. Steve Barrett at Noble High School in Noble, Oklahoma during spring 2003.  That implementation has been evaluated and the results of that evaluation are available from the link below.  The module will be revised based on this evaluation.  After revision, the module will be made available from the ATA website.
